I blame February for having a weird amount of days, but hey, we got our first late blog post! And many more to come…
…anywho, here’s what I’ve done these past two weeks, and hope to accomplish in the following few:
General: Maybe it’s the hopelessness setting in, or maybe it’s a subtle lifestyle change, but I have been feeling… good these past few weeks. I’ve been living in Irvine for almost four years, and finally decided to spend a weekend going to downtown LA and just enjoy myself with others. I think I need to do this “enjoying life” thing more often, sounds like a pretty good idea.
School: This time around, I don’t have any game zips to show off. Instead, just boring ol’ words! This past week had me re-evaluate my expected graduation quarter – it’s been pushed back to the Summer instead. The reason for this is simple: I’m taking 19 units now, I need 21 units worth of classes to graduate. I’m not doing 19 units again, so I’m definitely not doing 21 units. It would be much easier to spread that work out and just… live like a normal person, y’know?
Capstone: We spent the last week getting the game to run from 20 fps to 60 fps, through heavy optimization! It’s still not fun to play, but hey, baby steps. The next things we have to do are to make do with the flat level we have, add sounds and music where we had none, tweak the AI, and the best part of all – visual feedback!
As of writing this, there is two weeks left of this quarter. I may skip the next Biweekly Blog, since the only thing I will be working on is school, and frankly I’m tired of talking about it here. Moving forward, I would like to discuss more things with my projects, whether it be some tiny things I’m proud of or big changes to my work. The fun stuff!
